Hosted by Rich Olsen-Harbich, Winemaker, Bedell Cellars, Cutchogue, NY

Bedell Cellars is an esteemed family-owned estate winery in the North Fork of Long Island AVA. The winery was founded in 1980 by Kip and Susan Bedell and was purchased by the current owners, The Lynne family, in 2000. We are dedicated to quality and creativity in everything we do. With a commitment to sustainable farming, we have hand-crafted our wines in small batches for over forty years using methods that define the regional style — artistically blending grapes grown in our unique maritime terroir. Winemaker Rich Olsen-Harbich is a veritable pioneer of winemaking on Long Island. Over the past 40 years this accomplished winemaker has crafted award-winning and highly regarded wines. Join Rich Olsen-Harbich on this special wine cruise along the waterways of Bordeaux.

Expertly Curated WINE EXPERIENCES

Immerse yourself in the many flavors of Europe on one of AmaWaterways unique Wine Cruises, which let you add a unique, epicurean dimension to one of our European itineraries. Like our standard river cruises, guests have the opportunity to join tours that highlight the famous sights in each port of call. These special itineraries, however, offer guests a perfect blend of wine-related experiences and excursions in grand capitals and charming towns. You’ll taste local cuisine, discover how wine is made and, of course, partake in tastings — all at no additional cost. Whether you have a seasoned appreciation for fine wine, or simply indulge in a sip here and there, this is a wonderful way to uncork the traditions of the local culture and learn about the region you’re visiting.

About the Wine Region – The Rhine

The Rhine along with its main tributaries—the Moselle and Main—have created a wine connoisseur’s paradise, which can be discovered on our Europe’s Rivers & Castles, Enchanting Rhine, Captivating Rhine and Rhine & Moselle Splendors itineraries.

The Upper Middle Rhine’s slate soil combined with a semi-continental climate have proven to be a recipe for wine-growing success for the Rheingau vineyards, yielding high-quality white wine varieties, and some fine reds.

Overview Enchanting Rhine (Wine Cruise)

7-night Cruise

Cruise From: Basel to Amsterdam

Grand cities blend in perfect harmony with their historic past and their progressive future. Zurich’s medieval houses, narrow lanes and town halls from the Renaissance period offer a striking backdrop to its trendy and ultra-modern metropolis. And Amsterdam’s Golden Age melds seamlessly with its lively cafés, exciting nightlife and glorious museums. Inspirational towns have given way to great stories, poetry and music—Heidelberg, where Mark Twain wrote “A Tramp Abroad.” Timeless traditions remain intact—from the making of Kölsch, Cologne’s legendary brew to the making of Rüdesheimer Coffee. Take a front-row seat on an enchanting journey that takes you along the Rhine and through its designated-UNESCO World Heritage Site with its 40 castles strung like pearls on its river banks and to magnificent cities and charming villages alike.
