A native from Madrid, Spain, Abel holds a degree in Tourism Management. Before joining AmaWaterways, he has worked as a tour leader since 2002 in different European countries and is also a licensed local guide, showing off his hometown’s many notable sights. Abel is fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese and is conversational in French. A passionate adventure traveler, he has also volunteered for development NGOs in Africa. His interests include food and wine, diving and playing Brazilian Capoeira with friends.

Agnes was born in Hungary and studied to be a teacher at a University in Budapest, while also being a semi-professional traditional Hungarian dancer. She started working for Amawaterways as a local host in diverse locations in Europe and later became a Cruise Manager. Agnes is married, has two beautiful sons and a yellow Labrador dog. She has a passion for travelling, and especially loves Central Europe and the Far East.

I was born in a village by the sea on the North Central Coast of Vietnam. After four years of studying tourism, I decided to head south to Ho Chi Minh City to study English and started working as a tour guide in 2011. After four years of working as a tour guide and tour leader from South to North Vietnam, I was lucky enough to be hired in 2015 as one of the youngest tour guides ever for luxury cruises on the Mekong River. In 2017, I proudly joined AmaWaterways and became a Cruise Manager the following year. Today, I live in Ho Chi Minh City with my wife and daughter, where I enjoy playing with my little girl, reading books and traveling.

I am originally from Croatia, and I began my career in hospitality nearly two decades ago on one of Croatia’s beautiful islands. I started as a tour guide in college and since 2015 I’ve been guiding groups in the Croatian port cities of Ilok and Vukovar. During my free time, you can find me enjoying the outdoors on a hike with my dog, reading a good book, or practicing new languages.

You might say I was born to work on the rivers – I grew up in a small town along the Danube close to Budapest. I have degrees in both English literature and linguistics and previously served as a tour guide. I truly love the great outdoors: kayaking, canoeing and biking. When I am not on board, I enjoy spending my time with my four kids.

Olá, my name is André and I was raised in the City of Porto, Portugal. It has been my dream since I was a little boy to show and tell stories about my city and country. Today am lucky enough to do so as part of our amazing AmaWaterways family. My dream on the rivers came true and so can yours!

A lifelong adventure traveler, I'm drawn to being in, on or near the water. Although I earned a degree in Data Engineering, my true passion lies in helping people discover the magic of travel and of different cultures. Since starting my tourism and hospitality career in 2018, I have never looked back. I am fluent in four languages, and, when I'm not on board, you'll likely find me surfing, paddleboarding or simply enjoying time by the ocean.

Born with an adventurous spirit in beautiful Romania, I was shaped by the stories and experiences gained through travel and meeting diverse people. After studying tourism management and working in the hotel and cruise industries, hospitality became my clear career destination. I love being outdoors, I enjoy meditation, and I have a background in professional team sports, all of which enrich my journeys on the world's rivers.

I am from Bogotá, Colombia, and with over 14 years in tourism, I have guided travelers through the history and culture of many stunning destinations. Now, I’m excited to welcome you on this unique journey along the Magdalena River, where you will experience Colombia’s rich heritage and natural beauty. I’m fluent in English and Spanish and can hold conversations in Italian, making it easy to connect with travelers from around the world. My goal is to ensure an unforgettable experience, filled with discovery, comfort and authenticity.

Born in the Alentejo Plains in sunny Southern Portugal, I decided to make the rest of my life the best of my life. I previously worked as a personal trainer and Wellness Host as far abroad as the Middle East. Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, I am passionate about history and art and love to embark on exciting new adventures watching sunsets around the world.

Balázs K. started his career in tourism working in places like Greece and Tunisia, then as a tour guide in Budapest for 9 years. In 2005 he got into the river cruise business as a Cruise Manager and joined AmaWaterways in 2011. He is fluent in Hungarian, English and German, loves hiking and gardening, and currently lives in Denmark.

As a youngster, Bernard grew up in a very remote part of the Caprivi in Namibia. After attending school for 12 years and graduating from college, he found work as a grounds man at a lodge. With drive and determination, Bernard worked his way up to become a guide and in 2011, he joined the crew aboard the Zambezi Queen. When he’s not inspiring guests in Africa, he enjoys reading history and the bible as well as fishing and discovering wildlife.

Bojan was born in Nis, Ex-Yugoslavia where he received his degree in hotel and tourism management. His love for tourism and travel blossomed when he started working as a tour guide in Egypt in 2004. Afterwards, he worked as a local guide, destination manager and an AmaWaterways local guide in Serbia. Becoming a cruise manager was the natural next step for him. Today, Bojan lives in Belgrade with his wife and two beautiful kids. In his free time he enjoys traveling with family and loves tennis, biking and hiking.

Born in Paris, I have spent the past 30 years living between the grand metropolises of London, New York, and Sydney. My former career as a professional singer and dancer brought me to destinations all around the world, which eventually led me to begin my AmaWaterways career in 2015. Today, my passion for history, French cuisine, and storytelling shapes every river cruise I lead with AmaWaterways!

Born in the small town of Guimarães, considered the cradle of the Portuguese nationality, I studied international relations before ascending to the skies as a flight attendant. Now I am happily working on the rivers. When I am not on board, I love listening to music and making flower arrangements.

Christian A. is from Düsseldorf, Germany, but considers Brazil his second home. During the winter season he stays in Brazil with his two children, Luan and Madana, and during the regular working season he lives in Germany. He started working for AmaWaterways 2009. In his spare time, Christian likes to read history, philosophy and literature, and he also enjoys many sports, particularly swimming (he competes in open water marathons in Brazil). He has traveled all around the world and speaks fluent German, English, Portuguese and Spanish, as well as French and Italian.

My life is one of diversity. I am originally from South Africa and have lived in Europe for the past nine years. I consider myself blessed to travel the world. I transitioned from professional sports to having a career in tourism, but my passion to serve others remains steadfast. I joined AmaWaterways in 2020; I speak, English, Afrikaans and Dutch; and I can tell you where to find all the best desserts in town.

I traveled far and wide early on in life: I was born on the Austro-Hungarian border and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. My career has taken me on biking and hiking trips all over Europe, from Iceland to Italy and beyond. Now I look forward to sharing my love, passion and heritage with you – one river at a time!

I am an explorer at heart, always seeking ways to care for and uplift those around me. As a professional surfer and boat captain, my passion lies in the open waters and the untamed beauty of nature. With deep knowledge of the Magdalena River and the Caribbean region, I find pure joy in unveiling their magic to others. Nothing fulfills me more than guiding people through the breathtaking landscapes of the Magdalena River, where every journey becomes an unforgettable experience.

I was born and raised in Hungary, but spent most of my adult life in Sydney, Australia. My multinational upbringing inspired a lifelong love of tourism and travel. Today, I’m lucky to travel the world as part of the AmaWaterways family, leading travelers on several river and ocean cruise lines throughout my career before joining AmaWaterways in 2009. When I’m not working, I love to play soccer and, of course, spend quality time with my wife and kids.

David is a native of Barcelona. He holds a University degree in Physiotherapy and a Master’s degree in Hotel Management. He started working in the Tourism and Hospitality industry 18 years ago, working in hotels, cruise ships and for tour operators. He then realized that was the career path he would follow, as he really enjoyed traveling and meeting people from around the world. He has visited more than 85 countries and lived or passed through Portugal, England, Germany and the Dominican Republic. He is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese, conversional in French and would like to improve his German. His hobbies are playing different sports, international gastronomy and traveling.

Dejan studied economics and holds a Master's Degree in European Union Integration, yet realised very early that his real passions were travelling and working with people. He started his career in the travel industry working for the leading UK tour operator, TUI, looking after guests in ski and beach resorts across Europe. His hobbies include diving, paragliding and playing sports, and he is fluent in English, Spanish, Serbian and Croatian and conversant in Russian. Dejan currently lives in sunny Barcelona, Spain.

As a little girl in Johannesburg, South Africa, I dreamed of one day traveling beyond my hometown. I eventually achieved this goal working as a bus hostess, and later as a registered tourist guide. As a proud AmaWaterways Tour Director, I love using my skills to create unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Dragan has a Serbian-Hungarian background and 16 years' experience in the hospitality industry. After finishing the Hotel Management School in Germany, he started cruising around the world on ocean-going vessels. Dragan joined AmaWaterways in 2010 and has been a Cruise Manager since 2011. A passionate traveler, he has visited 95 countries and is fluent in German, English and Serbian. He loves water skiing, diving and skiing in the Alps.

I was born in the central highlands of Vietnam in a beautifully landscaped town with evergreen forests and mountains, as well as colorful and multicultural hill tribes. This upbringing inspired me to become a tour guide right away after I graduated in 2001. Since 2005, I have been working as a tour leader for many international companies, leading tours throughout Vietnam as well as Indochina. Become a Cruise Manager for AmaWaterways has been a big step for my career. In my free time, I am passionate about traveling, reading and both listening to and playing music.

Born in France and raised between North Africa and France, I earned a degree in tourism and began my career guiding in Normandy after two years in London. Travel has always been my passion, and I share this love with my kids, exploring new cultures and destinations together. With a lifelong career in tourism, being a Cruise Manager truly feels like a "dream job"-discovering the world, guiding travelers and sharing unforgettable experiences.

Born in the city of Reus just outside of Barcelona, Spain, I have felt a passion for travel since I was a child. Growing up my favorite toy was an atlas, and my love for plants and animals eventually led me to becoming a biologist. While working as a birdwatching guide, I realized that I could blend my love for biology and travel into one career, and today I am lucky enough to make this dream a reality with AmaWaterways!

Born and raised in Romania, Florentin graduated from the University and studied Economics, Law and Public Administration. Soon he realized that those areas of study were not making him happy. Travel was his passion and after graduating from the University in 2000, he started working on Ocean Cruises. In 2009 he discovered river cruising and since then has been sailing the waterways of Europe. Beside travel, he has a passion for languages – he speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish fluently and is working hard to bring his German to a higher level. This is his dream job and he is not sure if he found the job or the job found him.

Originally from Bucharest, Romania, I took a leap from a Finance career to pursue my true passion for travel. Seven years ago, I joined AmaWaterways, marking the start of an incredible journey filled with memorable experiences. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, quality time with friends, and relaxing with my cat.

After studying Hospitality and Tourism, Frederico set sail to travel the world on cruise ships. He enjoys speaking with fellow travelers, sharing his enthusiasm for travel and is passionate about making sure guests return home with unforgettable memories. He enjoys biking, hiking and watching movies.

Although I was born in Venezuela, I was raised in Porto in a small village close to the Douro River. I have a degree in Sports Science and began working on board AmaWaterways ships in 2019 as a Wellness Host. I look forward to serving as a passionate Cruise Manager, connecting with guests and making a difference in your lives!

Helene is a native of Marseille, France where she lives now, after spending 6 years in Canada in the Hotel Industry, 8 years in the United-States in show business and years of travelling and cruising the world from the Arctic to the Antarctic. She holds a degree in Sociology and Journalism and is fluent in English and French, also conversant in Italian and she is currently focusing on mastering the Spanish language. She is passionate by her Provence where she enjoys hiking, nordic walking, dancing and Brazilian music.

Heloise was born and raised in the French part of Switzerland. Very early on she decided to see the world and found her passion in traveling. She lived abroad in the US, Vietnam and India and traveled through Central America before settling in the German capital of Berlin. After a few years, she decided to become a Cruise Manager for AmaWaterways. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, hiking, surfing, doing yoga, biking, running and meditation. She speaks fluently in French, German, English and Spanish.

Born and raised in Bulgaria, I found my new home eighteen years ago on the vibrant south coast of Spain, where I live with my wife and our two teenagers. I've enjoyed a lifetime in the hospitality industry, starting as a tour guide through the charming streets of my hometown, Varna. I love biking, swimming, and "losing" time fishing. I'm an energetic and self-driven person with a passion for delivering first-rate service.

Born and raised in central Portugal, I've always had a passion for exploring the world and connecting with new cultures. This led me to study tourism and hospitality, and in 2018, I joined the cruise industry as a tour guide. Sharing the rich traditions of my country and creating unforgettable experiences for travelers is my greatest joy. I love learning about history, capturing moments through photography, and discovering new places along the way.

I grew up in southern Romania at the base of the beautiful Bucegi Mountains, surrounded by natural wonders near the storied city of Brașov. Since I was a child, I have dreamed of traveling the world, and I am now lucky enough to follow a career that meets my personal passions. After experiencing memorable destinations like India and New Zealand, I began my career with AmaWaterways in 2022. In my free time, I love to hike in the mountains, garden, and teach yoga.

Iúri has a background in law, but soon found his vocation within hospitality, leisure and travel. After joining AmaWaterways as a Tour Escort in 2015, becoming a Cruise Manager has been his dream come true,. He loves the warm fuzzy feeling of being responsible for somebody's smile, knowing he played a part in creating someone's good memories. In his free time, he enjoys technology and always tries to keep himself updated with new communications and social networking. As a true Portuguese, he likes food, olive oil and wine. I am an adventurous, optimistic soul with a contagious energy that my friends often compare to sunshine. Born and raised along the mighty Danube River, I dreamed of one day sharing its treasures with others. I have worked passionately as a guide and sommelier in Serbia, a destination manager in Spain and a Cruise Manager on European rivers. Guiding travelers with the AmaWaterways family, I get to do what I enjoy most while speaking English, Spanish, Russian, German and Balkan languages.

Born and raised in Novi Sad, Serbia, Jelena graduated from the University of Novi Sad in Tourism Management and holds a Master degree in Geography. She has worked in tourism for 8 the past years, after starting her career as a tourist guide. Jelena is fluent in English and many Balkan languages. She lives to travel, loves to read, enjoys working with people and spends her free time with family and friends.

Born and raised in Germany, Jessi studied Political Science and German Language & Literature. Traveling with her family and always fascinated by the destinations presented in travel magazines, Jessi served in various internships in Spain and Peru. She later embarked her first river cruise ship and although she later earned a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature, she never left the European waterways. Now based in Madrid, Jessi joined AmaWaterways in 2019. She loves to share her excitement for travel, culture, food and cruising Europe’s rivers. She is fluent in German, English and Spanish, conversational in French and just cannot decide on her very favorite spot on this planet.

Born and raised in Porto, at the mouth of the Douro River, I've always felt a deep connection to the water. With a degree in History, I began my career in 2018 as a river tour guide, sharing my passion for the region and helping guests enjoy unforgettable cruising experiences. Fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish, I'm also working on my French to further connect with travelers from around the world.

John R. began his career in the travel industry not on Europe's rivers but mountains, looking after guests in ski resorts. In the three decades since then, John worked with motor coach tour operators, ski chalets and beach resorts before joining AmaWaterways in 2006. Fluent in English, Italian and French, the native of Britain is a skiing and diving enthusiast, and lives in Hungary.

Born in the vibrant city of Porto, I now reside in Lisbon. As an avid reader with a degree in International Relations, I have developed my passion for diplomacy, aviation and travel. Curiosity led me to explore the world and embrace new cultures, and I believe each journey offers a chance to learn and grow. With 20 years in aviation, I've not only expanded my horizons but also gained valuable skills that enhance my everyday life.

I am a Colombian that has been globetrotting all his life. I have loved languages since my youth and have had the privilege to learn Spanish, English, Mandarin Chinese and basic conversational Korean. I have worked in hospitality since 2014, joining the AmaWaterways team in 2024 to become a Cruise Manager. I currently live in Medellín, and in my free time I love reading and learning about psychology and philosophy; practicing weightlifting and calisthenics; and outdoor activities such as trekking and horseback riding.

I am native to Barranquilla, Colombia, where the Magdalena River meets the Caribbean. I have an innate love of Carnival, dancing and culture. Fluent in Spanish and English (and a little bit of French), I am passionate about service, connecting with people and discovering new places. I am excited to share the beauty of my home with everyone—and maybe even teach you some salsa moves!

Born and raised in Budapest, I began my career with AmaWaterways as a local guide. Now, as a Cruise Manager, I aim to share my passion for the stunning scenery and rich cultures along Europe's rivers. Connecting with people has always been my true calling-whether in journalism, diplomacy, fundraising for UNICEF or leading tours across Central Europe. At home, my daughters explore the world while my two elderly cats enjoy a quiet life.

Spending my formative years in the Blyde River Canyon of Kruger National Park, I have always been tickled by the culture, nature, and adventure around me. With an MBA and more than 20 years of guiding experience, I am committed to assuring guests’ safety while sharing my passion for the beauty of South Africa.

Kriss S. joined AmaWaterways in 2011, She studied translation at the University of Ottawa in Canada before going into tourism. She has worked for a travel agency, a charter airline and a tour company. She's traveled to more than 44 countries; and is fluent in English, French and Spanish. Kriss now lives in The Netherlands and is an avid cyclist.

Krisztian was born and raised in the adventurous land of Hungary, where he studied history at university and always loved traveling. He started working in the tourism industry more than 10 years ago as a local guide and international relations manager of his hometown. Afterwards, he proudly became a member of our Cruise Manager team. Krisztian is a dedicated bike rider since that is his favorite method of transportation when it comes to discovering the beauties of the world. When he’s not on board, he loves hiking, swimming and traveling with his family.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Budapest, Hungary, I studied tourism and management at the Budapest Business University. I began working on the rivers in 2006 as part of the crew, and I have explored numerous countries since then. After working as a local guide in my hometown, I had the opportunity to become a Cruise Manager for AmaWaterways in 2021. In my free time, I like to explore, read, study, and exercise (to compensate for my passion for eating desserts!)

Now a resident in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, Louis grew up in the rural Northern Rivers area of Australia. He quickly developed a passion for learning about people, places and cultures. With some formal studies in journalism and linguistics, he decided to move to Europe at a young age to begin a lifelong adventure. After brief careers in education and language software, Louis became a Cruise Manager so he can do what he loves: show people a good time in some of the most beautiful and fascinating places in Europe. Louis is fluent in English and Spanish, conversational in Italian and working on Portuguese, Galician and French. In his free time, he loves playing rugby, cooking and the arts.

I was born and raised near Cologne, Germany, where I still reside today with my wife. Though I began my career in banking, I decided to follow my passions for people and travel, which led me to the rivers with AmaWaterways. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and participating in outdoor activities.

Luis, a Portuguese native from the northern part of the country, was born in the city of Porto and it was there that he fell in love in what he considers to be the job of his lifetime. Working in the tourism industry from a young age, he started out guiding and promoting touristic activities. Nowadays he loves to share his knowledge and his passion with everyone that sails with him. During his free time, he loves to study, travel, experience new cultures and try different kinds of food! Luis holds a law degree and he speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Born and raised in Romania, Maddy holds a degree in Marketing and a master's degree in International Affairs. She started working in the river cruise industry in 2000 and joined AmaWaterways in 2007.

I am originally from a small seaside city on the Portuguese coast called Peniche. A few years ago, I traded the sunshine of Portugal for the Highlands of Scotland and moved to Inverness with my family. But I still get to enjoy plenty of sunshine up on the Sun Deck when I’m river cruising!

Born and raised in Brazil, Marcia became an independent teenager at the age of 14 when she started working as an English and Spanish teacher at language schools in Sao Paulo. She also did some modelling jobs with one of the most famous modelling agencies in Brazil, Ford Models. Tired of teaching for so long and too shy to keep her modelling career, she decided to change her occupation into something where she could assist people, communicate, exchange and learn new cultures and travel. As soon as she finished her bachelor’s degree in Language and Literature in 2006, Marcia moved to Dubai and worked as a flight attendant for one of the most renowned airlines in the Middle East and perhaps the world. She then moved to Germany where she has lived since 2008. While in Germany, she not only learned German but also a new occupation and served as Global Marketing Manager for a warehouse management system company where she worked for the next 10 years. Since 2018, she has been a part of the team of Cruise Managers at AmaWaterways. Marcia is fluent in 4 languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English and German, and is conversational in Italian. Besides learning new languages and reading new books, which is Marcia´s real passion, she loves to spend her weekends at the golf course where she participates in golf tournaments. Marcia is also passionate about ballet and yoga and loves to travel.

Born in Spain, I have been a world explorer from a young age. I have lived in Ireland, Latin America and Australia, and I spent five incredible years as a tour leader in Africa. My love for languages, travel and connecting with diverse cultures led me to AmaWaterways. I am fluent in Spanish and English, with conversational French and Swahili skills. My goal is to ensure that you have an unforgettable vacation filled with amazing experiences.

Martina V. was born in Czechoslovakia where she grew up under the communist regime, then lived in post-communist Slovakia, Austria and Germany, spent some months on Venice Beach, California, later got married in Las Vegas and moved to Africa for 5 years. Today she lives very happily with her husband, dog and cat on the Canary Islands. Martina started to sail on European rivers in 2006 and as a cruise manager loves to take shipload of eager travelers across the heart of Europe.

Born in a small town in the countryside of Croatia, I always longed to travel the world. After graduation I started working in tourism, eventually joining the AmaWaterways team in 2022. I am a sports fanatic who loves to play soccer, and I also enjoy spending time outdoors hiking or bike riding.

Born and raised in former Czechoslovakia, Miriam calls now the Slovak Republic her home. She holds a university degree in International Trade and Marketing, but since the very beginning, she knew her career would be in tourism. She used to be responsible for Cruise Managers but after a couple of years, she switched teams and has never regretted this decision. Where else could you connect the passion for traveling, languages and meeting new people? Miriam is fluent in English, German and Dutch, conversational in Slavic languages, Spanish and French. In her free time, she travels as well, reads a lot, enjoys great coffee and brings coffee cups home as souvenirs.

Monika F. has cruised the rivers of Europe for several years now and finds it fulfills her passion for exploring new places, learning about different cultures and sharing her love of travel with other people. She spends her free time traveling and also enjoys photography, diving, sailing and seeking out new place to have a good meal.

Born and raised in Slovenia, Natalija earned an International Relations degree. Natalija’s love of traveling led her to become a tour director traveling to different European countries. Out of curiosity, she changed careers, and spent years working for the European Union. However, first loves are hard to forget, so Natalija went back to travel, and since 2015, she has been an AmaWaterways’ Cruise Manager. Natalija is fluent in Slovenian, English, French and Italian and when not working, loves exploring the world with a camera in her hand.

Nicki was born in Manchester where he studied Hospitality and Business Management and found his passion for wine and gastronomy. After running hotels and restaurants, he decided to focus on wine and moved to Ribera del Duero, one of Spain’s most prestigious winemaking regions. Nicki now lives in Barcelona and his dream is to become a Master of Wine, which he is studying towards now. Working with AmaWaterways has given him the platform to share his passion of fine wines, local delicacies and history in some of Europe’s most iconic regions.

I was born and raised in Transylvania – the land behind the forest – in central Romania. After graduating with a travel and tourism degree, I sailed the seven seas for seven years as a Destination Manager. In 2017, I discovered the rivers and have been a part of the AmaWaterways family since 2019. I speak French and Italian, enjoy salsa dancing and have a favorite restaurant in each of the cities we travel to.

I come from the beautiful county of Croatia and joined the AmaFamily in 2019. My native language is Croatian, so I can speak with Croatians, Serbs and Bosnians, but I also speak the Czech language and have basics in German. When I am not on the river, I enjoy sailing or skiing. I encourage you to take at least one bike tour and hike and join a couple of wellness classes when you are on board.

Pau was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. He holds a degree in Philosophy and Architectural Engineering; however, his true passion is related to languages and communication. He is fluent in English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian and is conversational in French. As a passionate adventure traveler, before joining Amawaterways, he worked as a tour director in different European countries. In his spare time, Pau likes to play flamenco guitar, read history, philosophy and literature, and also enjoys many sports, particularly soccer, the national sport in Spain. Currently, he lives in Barcelona, where for many years he worked on construction sites as an engineer.

Born and raised in the south of the Netherlands, I hold a bachelor's in social studies and theater, which led to 11 fulfilling years teaching high school. Alongside teaching, I was a cardio instructor and enjoyed performing on stage, contributing to social theater projects. A native of Brazil, Rachel has a background in International Relations and World Politics and has worked for several international organizations, such as the United Nations and the Red Cross. She has been traveling around the world since childhood and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and conversant in German and Italian. Rachel loves to tell stories, read about world history, and has a true passion for dancing. When not working, Rachel can be found in southern Spain, where she now lives, running at the beach, sailing the Mediterranean or volunteering for local NGOs.

Although Raul is German, he grew up in Spain and became a Cruise Manager over 10 years ago at the early age of 21. He has since sailed on any and all rivers between Rotterdam and the Black Sea. When he is not cruising, he works as a travel photographer and takes pictures for hotels and resorts around the world. He is equally fluent in Spanish, German and English.

Reka P. was born in Hungary soon after the former Communist country re-opened its borders to the world. Eager to discover new horizons and to help other experience the magic of foreign travel, she worked as a tour leader for 14 years. After joining AmaWaterways, she found being a cruise manager was a perfect fit with her name – "Reka" means river in Hungarian. Knowledgeable about local history, cuisine and wildlife, she also holds a law degree and speaks Hungarian, English and German.

Rolf was born in The Netherlands and studied to become an Engineer before he realized that traveling was his passion. After completing a degree program at the University of Tourism, he started out as a tour manager, guiding travelers throughout Europe. Rolf is fluent in English, German and Dutch and has visited many countries. He now lives in Vienna, plays guitar and holds a private helicopter pilot license.

Raised between England and Hungary, I developed a love for travel, culture, history and cuisine from a young age. Fluent in both English and Hungarian, I originally entered the world of river cruising as a singer, which led me to AmaWaterways. Now, I'm thrilled to share Europe's beauty and heritage with travelers from around the world. When not onboard, I enjoy unwinding with a good book or indulging in my passion for finding the perfect dessert!

Born and raised along the banks of the Nile, I have a bachelor's degree in English language and literature. With more than 12 years’ experience in tourism, I have fallen in love with what I consider to be the job of a lifetime. I love to share my knowledge and passion with guests. In my free time, I like to study, travel and snorkel.

Born and raised in Santa Marta, right in the heart of Macondo, I have spent over 8 years in tourism, showing visitors the hidden treasures and stunning landscapes of my hometown and beyond. Fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, I love connecting with people from all over. When I am not exploring hidden gems, you can probably find me lost in a good book, at the beach or dancing to the rhythms of the Caribbean. Let’s make some unforgettable memories together!

Born and raised in Belgrade, where the Sava and Danube rivers meet, I have combined my love for travel, languages and cultural exchange through my career in tourism. Starting as a local guide in Serbia, my dream of exploring the world came true as a tour leader in South America and Asia. I am a native Serbian speaker, and I speak English and Spanish fluently. In my free time, I enjoy biking, exploring nature and painting, which keep me inspired and energized.

I am originally from the city of Buzau, Romania, where I developed a deep admiration for the knowledgeable travel professionals who guide others through the wider world. I began my career with AmaWaterways in 2018 as a local guide on our Transylvania land package excursions, and eventually earned a spot as a Cruise Manager in 2022. My hobbies include travelling and admiring the architecture of beautiful monuments I encounter around the world.

Talida C. studied political science at the University of Bucharest, but decided to work in a more positive environment, where she could put a smile on people's faces every day. This is how she started her career as a tour guide in her home country of Romania. After a few years of guiding, becoming a Cruise Manager was the natural next step for her. Her two greatest passions in life are traveling and food, which makes this her dream job. She is proficient in English, Spanish, French, and Italian, conversational in Portuguese and on a mission to learn either German or Dutch in the near future.

I was born in Budapest, Hungary, and completed my university studies in Recreation and Health Care. My career in hospitality began in Sydney, Australia, where I worked aboard private yachts. A devoted sports fan and nature enthusiast, I currently live in Hungary. Sharing stories, discovering new places, and connecting with people is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

I grew up in a small town on Danube River on the border between Serbia, Croatia, and Hungary, where I dreamed of exploring the wider world. After studying English and German as a tour guide, I began working with river cruise ships on the Lower Danube before joining AmaWaterways in 2020 as a Cruise Manager. When I’m not cruising along Europe’s great rivers, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, reading books, and taking long walks in nature around my beautiful home in Osijek, Croatia.

Born in Hungary, my family's passion for travel inspired me to become a tour guide and Cruise Manager. Guiding in Hungary and welcoming travel groups fueled my love for hospitality. Sailing through Europe and Egypt has become a cherished part of my career. When not working, I enjoy hiking, singing and attending classical concerts, and I always enjoy exploring and sharing the beauty of each destination.

Uwe (pronounced “oo-vuh”) was born near Dresden and studied civil engineering before deciding to make a career out of his favorite hobbies, traveling and hiking. Fluent in English and German and conversant in French and Russian, Uwe’s travel career began as a local guide in Cape Town, South Africa. A decade as a river cruise guide in Europe followed before the “warmhearted team spirit” of AmaWaterways enticed him to join us in 2008.

Vanessa was born in Novi Sad, Serbia, where she also completed her Master’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. After working for some time abroad, she served in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism before beginning her career on the rivers of Europe. Vanessa speaks her native Serbian, English and Spanish and loves to spend her free time outdoors with friends, hiking and cycling and traveling the world.

Growing up in the storied and diverse city of Budapest, I felt called to a career in tourism from an early age. With nearly 20 years of experience in the luxury cruise industry, I’ve sailed with over a dozen vessels across the AmaWaterways fleet. My favorite river is the Danube, although as a fluent German speaker I also love to sail the Moselle and the Rhine. Outside of traveling, I am a sports fan and a music lover!

I am a local citizen of Cairo with more than 23 years of experience as an Egyptologist and a Cruise Manager. I enjoy showing the “real” Egypt to my guests and make sure they have the journey of their lifetime. I maintain a very active lifestyle and can be found traveling the world during my brief holidays.

Born and raised in the central highlands of Vietnam, I now live in Saigon. With a passion for travel, I started working as a guide in 2012. In 2018, I took a huge step in my career when I joined AmaWaterways aboard AmaDara. In my time here, I have met interesting people from all around the world and enjoyed learning about their fascinating stories and experiences. I love eating local foods, experiencing new cultures and learning history everywhere I travel with my family. When not onboard, I enjoy hiking, cycling and reading.
