RUSSIA
RUSSIA

Enjoy a spectacular voyage through the heart of Russia along its colourful and historic waterways. Explore bustling and excitement-packed Moscow, then cruise north and visit the enchanting Golden Ring cities of Uglich, and Yaroslavl. Continue along the Volga-Baltic Waterways visiting ancient Monastries and through Europe’s two largest lakes, Onega and Ladoga to St. Petersburg, one of the world’s most beautiful cities, spread over 101 islands and 66 canals

THE MEKONG RIVER
THE MEKONG RIVER

The Mekong River winds its way from the Tibetan plateaus of China’s Yunnan province, through the rainforests, plains and rice fields of five Southeast Asian countries before meeting the South China Sea. In terms of length, it’s the 12th largest river in the world, but in terms of historic, cultural and ecological richness-the Mekong has no equal. The sagas of ancient empires, colonial powers and modern conflicts have unfolded along her banks. And, through it all, the Mekong remains first and foremost a lifeline. Temples, trade routes and fishing villages in the river’s path are today untouched by time, just as the way of life they represent. And nowhere are the river’s riches more apparent than in the neighboring-but distinct countries-of Vietnam and Cambodia.

KOBLENZ
KOBLENZ

Set against a backdrop of vineyards and historic castles along the banks of Rhine and Mosel, the German winegrowing town of Koblenz has always charmed visitors with a rich array of tourist attractions. Situated along the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the “Upper Middle Rhine Valley,” the town’s narrow lanes, busy squares and impressive historic buildings bear testament to a 2,000-year- old history that spans back to Roman times. This year, Koblenz will come alive with a spectacular new event: the Federal Horticultural Show Koblenz 2011 (known in German as Bundesgartenschau or “BUGA”), taking place from April 15 to October 16, 2011. AMAWATERWAYS is excited to offer this unforgettable event. Encompassing close to 120 acres, the Garden Show will take place on three main areas, the Electoral Palace, the Blumenhof courtyard and the hilltop Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. These venues will serve as the primary settings for magnificent floral displays of every color, shape and variety imaginable. Exhibits and themes will change throughout the show’s duration. In addition to flowering carpets of dazzling seasonal blossoms in flower halls and outdoor exhibit sites, visitors can stroll along an inviting riverside promenade beside the Rhine and Mosel. The Garden Show will also include cultural highlights and events, ranging from symphony concerts to street art. In total, more than 3,000 such events are scheduled, featuring music, theater, seminars, children’s programs and themed evenings. CALL 0808 223 5009 FOR MORE INFORMATION
