Award-winning river cruise operator AmaWaterways is looking for a dynamic Commercial & Sales Support Executive to join the UK team, based in Guildford, Surrey. You will have strong numeracy and analytical skills, be computer literate, have excellent attention to detail and be friendly and outgoing. A passion for travel is also required.

Working as part of a small team, the position has the following key responsibilities:


  • Assisting the Commercial & Product Manager with the creation of promotions
  • Checking pricing and inventory to ensure promotions are as effective as possible
  • Assisting with proofing of marketing materials for tactical offers and pricing accuracy
  • Proactively presenting commercial ideas and opportunities to increase sales in line with company objectives
  • Analysing competitor pricing
  • Assisting with the internal communication of promotions to Reservations, Marketing, PR and Finance
  • Working closely with Marketing to ensure Commercial and Marketing departments are aligned


  • Be the contact point and maintain close relationships with travel agents and tour operators
  • Ensure any agent and tour operator requests are responded to within 24 hours
  • Proactively work to encourage sales through travel agents and tour operators
  • Assist in organisation of joint promotions, ship visits & events as needed
  • Assist and support our field Sales team
  • Running of regular booking reports for our sales team
  • Supporting Reservations team with taking reservations and giving quotes when required
  • Management of our UK & EU online booking portals
  • Maintaining and updating the Trade database
  • Working within our booking system to create and maintain travel agent profiles
  • Administrating rewards schemes and incentives for travel agents
  • Ad hoc project management

Personal Development:

  • Identifying personal development requirements and proposing how they can be achieved
  • Proposing improvements to systems, product and working practices
  • Ensuring your Manager is aware of your personal goals and assists you in achieving them
  • Contributing to Team bonding positively, confidently, cheerily and with flexibility
  • Participating in courses and familiarisation trips and present your learnings

Other skills, abilities, qualifications, and minimum requirements:

  • It is essential that the candidate has excellent numeracy skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Ideally the successful candidate will be educated to a degree level
