Guildford, UK - (Apr. 21, 2020) - AmaWaterways has been recognised as one of Cruise Trade News’ “Best Companies to Work for in Cruise.” As part of the publication’s partnership with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specialising in identifying great places to work, the annual survey highlights leading travel companies throughout the UK who go above and beyond to create a rewarding career for those in the cruise industry.

AmaWaterways is a family-owned and operated company founded in 2002 by river cruise industry veterans Rudi Schreiner, president, Kristin Karst, executive vice president and the late Jimmy Murphy. The leading river cruise line opened its Guildford office in 2016 and employs a team of 17 in the UK -- led by Managing Director, Jamie Loizou -- with more than 250 colleagues in the United States and abroad.

“To be honoured in this leading cruise industry publication as one of the best companies to work for in the UK is a true testament to the commitment we have to our employees and the supportive, positive company culture that together we have created,” said Schreiner. “We are extremely customer-service driven and believe the key to taking care of our guests and valued travel partners lies in first taking care of our employees."

Open to cruise lines, travel agencies selling cruise holidays, and suppliers from across the cruise industry, the application for this esteemed recognition included two independent surveys conducted by Best Companies Group to gather detailed data about each participating company. First, the employer completes an online survey, detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics and this is followed by in-depth employee survey. Best Companies Group then independently analyses the data and determines the winners and rankings. As a result, AmaWaterways was deemed one of the UK’s “Fab Four,” highlighted alongside World Travel Holdings UK, Mundy Cruising and Cosmos Tours.

“We are proud to have built a genuine sense of AmaFamily that reverberates throughout the company,” added Karst. “It is our people that deliver the warm and genuine service and personalised experiences in our offices and on board our ships that set us apart. I am extremely proud of our UK team and that AmaWaterways is where the best of the best in the cruise industry want to work!”
