An Exciting Start to our 15th Anniversary Year

I couldn’t think of a better way to start our 15th anniversary than by receiving five gold awards during the recent 2017 Travvy Awards gala. AmaWaterways was presented with “Best Overall River Cruise Line,” “Best River Cruise in Africa/Egypt, Asia, and Europe,” and “Best River Cruise Ship, AmaStella.” We are especially proud to receive these Travvy Awards as they represent over 100,000 votes registered by travel professionals and recognize the highest standards of excellence in the travel industry.

Each time Rudi and I are invited on stage to receive an award, we are truly accepting it on behalf of over 1,000 people working in our offices, in the field and onboard our ships around the world—some of whom have been with us since we started the company 15 years ago.

But it is the heart warming feedback that we get directly from our guests that is the most rewarding to Rudi and I. So while I am very proud and humbled by the awards bestowed on the company, I also wanted to share with you just one example of the cherished guest feedback that we received this year:

“All of our Ama cruises had the best and most caring staff! This is one of our reasons for taking 6 cruises… and counting… with the best river cruise line in the world" – Deborah K.

Rudi and I started AmaWaterways because we wanted to create a river cruise company that we ourselves would enjoy. To us that meant excellent food and wine, comfortable and tasteful décor, lots of space to relax in, staterooms with maximum enjoyment of the countryside passing before us and an abundance of excursions to really immerse ourselves in the cultures of the countries we would visit. But most important to us was creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that can only happen when you have people who love their jobs and are passionate about service and sharing their culture and knowledge with our guests.
