GARY MURPHY AS V.P. NATIONAL ACCOUNTS

(Chatsworth, CA) AMAWATERWAYS is pleased to announce that Gary Murphy has joined the line’s executive team as Vice President of National Accounts. Based at the company’s Chatsworth, California headquarters, Murphy will report to AMAWATERWAYS Executive Vice President and Co-Owner, Kristin Karst.

“AMAWATERWAYS has experienced a fantastic 2009, and bookings for 2010 are coming in at an extremely strong level. Gary is joining our team at a key moment in our company’s growth. His industry experience and long-established ties with the travel agent community will be a valuable asset in helping us meet the increased demand for our great river cruise products,” said Karst.

Murphy’s experience in the travel industry spans more than 25 years, during which time he served in various roles at one of the country’s leading tour operators, Brendan Worldwide Vacations. He served as Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Brendan, and also served as President of the tour operator from 2001 to October, 2009. Murphy’s prior industry positions include Vice President Marketing and Sales, Miami Air International. In joining AMAWATERWAYS, he becomes part of a company co-founded by his father, Jimmy Murphy, along with Rudi Schreiner and Kristin Karst.
